On July 17, the oldest living U.S. Veteran met with the President in a meeting which was arranged by Talons Honor Flight. Emma Didlake is 110 years old and served in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II after deciding at the age of 38, and with five children, that she “wanted to do something different”.
Following her time in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps, Emma Didlake settled down in Detroit. The President told reporters “It’s a great reminder of not only the sacrifices that the greatest generation made on our behalf but also the kind of trailblazing that our women veterans made. We are so grateful that she is here with us today.”
Thank you for your service to our Country Emma Didlake.
