Bill Heading To Senate To Boost Disability Compensation, Support For Surviving Spouses And Families

On July 28, 2015, a bill which could increase the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for some Veterans passed the House with a 409 to 0 vote and is now heading to the Senate for a vote. H.R. 675, also known as the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act, would direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to increase, as of December 1, 2015, the rates of veterans’ disability compensation, additional compensation for dependents, the clothing allowance for certain disabled veterans, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children.
