Free LinkedIn Job Seeker Premium Account For Veterans

linked_in_logoMany Veterans already use LinkedIn and they may not even be aware that LinkedIn provides a Job Seeker Premium Account for one year free of charge to Veterans. Launched in 2003, LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network.  They have 300 million members spanning 200 countries.  As a LinkedIn member, you not only have the ability to build and grow your professional network, but you gain access to jobs, news updates and access to information which can help you find the right job.  LinkedIn says that they offer the  Job Seeker Premium Account free for a year as part of their commitment to connect Veterans with available jobs across America.

One thing you need to keep in mind is that the Job Seeker Premium Account is only free for one year.  If you are still serving in the Military and have more than a year before the end of your time in the Military, you may want to stick with the LinkedIn Basic account which is free.  With a basic account, you will still have the ability to fine tune your profile and build your professional connections. You may even find that job that you are looking for. But, as you get closer to the end of your time in the Military, you may find it beneficial to upgrade to the premium account for free.  A Basic account is for anyone who wants to create and maintain a professional profile online.  Below are a list of features that the basic account offers.

  • Build your professional identity on the web.
  • Build and maintain a large trusted professional network.
  • Find and reconnect with colleagues and classmates.
  • Request and provide recommendations.
  • Request up to 5 introductions at a time.
  • Search for and view profiles of other LinkedIn members.
  • Receive unlimited InMail messages.
  • View 100 results per search.
  • Save up to 3 searches and get weekly alerts on those searches.
