If you happened to stop by to grab a copy of one of the various Military Times publications and they were all sold out, you don’t have to worry. They are providing active duty with free digital subscriptions to their publications so you can stay on top of the latest and greatest from your branch of Service.
If you are active duty Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine Corps, select your branch off service from the links below to get a free digital subscription to one of the following Military Times. Read a little more to learn about the process of getting the free digital subscription.
Verification of Military Service is done through a company called SheerID. SheerID’s Frequently Asked Questions lets us know a little about how they verify Military Service by reviewing uploaded documents. They do state that all sensitive information such as Social Security Numbers should be blacked out. For the free digital subscriptions, you can see in the second image below that they require either a DD214, Orders or Deployment Records, A Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) current within the last 60 days or any official government issued document that contains your Military Credentials.
Although they say you can upload a DD214, that is a Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty which means that you would be ineligible for the “Free Digital subscription for Active Duty“.

Once submitted, if you are verified to be an active duty member, you will then be asked to enter your email address again to make sure you typed it correctly on the first page, select a password, select your gender, pay grade and enter your zip code.

If you are not active duty and still want to get the digital access to the Times paper for your branch of service, just visit the Military Times website, select your branch and subscribe.
