Police Seek Public’s Help In Identifying Man Who Attacked 52 Year Old Navy Veteran

On June 13, 2015, a 52-year-old Navy Veteran exited a trolley at a La Mesa, California transit depot at about 8 PM and jumped on his scooter to head down the sidewalk.  According to a facebook post by Jose Minano, “the victim suffered a brain injury a few years ago and is unable to drive“, so he relies on his scooter to get around.

The attacker is seen on the video striking the victim in the head and then jumping on the victim while continuing the physically assault of the victim.   The victim was taken to Alvarado Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The attacker in the surveillance camera footage is described by police as a black teenager with braided hair, wearing blue jeans, a white sweatshirt, red tennis shoes and a black baseball cap.
