From the QAMR: “Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rifles is a regular force Cavalry Regiment of the New Zealand Army. It was first founded on 16 September 1864. I’m greatly honoured and every privileged to experience and be apart of this miles stone with my brothers from afar that share a bond and history that since our two units birth have shared in blood on the battle field, fought though heart ache and lose but also felt the warmth in victory. stay strong and thank you from me and of the men of 2/14 LHR (QMI).AKE AKE KIA KAHA

War haka were originally performed by warriors before a battle, proclaiming their strength and prowess in order to intimidate the opposition, but haka are also performed for various reasons: for welcoming distinguished guests, or to acknowledge great achievements, occasions or funerals.
