The Continental United States only has one Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC) and it is located at Walt Disney World in Florida.  Shades of Green AFRC opened in 1984 and sits between two PGA Golf Courses on 27 acres of land. The Shades of Green Resort is operated by the U.S. Army, but it supports all branches of the U.S. Military.  Some call Shades of Green the best kept secret in the Military that everyone knows about, because many don’t even think about using it when they visit Walt Disney World.  If you are looking for a great place to vacation in the Continental United States, you may want to check out Shades of Green.  For less money, you get a spacious room with amenities and recreation opportunities that you will be hard to find at other resorts in the area for the same price.

The cost to use Shades of Green caries.  The room rates are posted for certain time frames, so if you want to know the current room rates, it is best to check the Shades of Green site directly or call the numbers we list below.  Just know that the room rates are broken down by category.  For example, A Service Member in the grade of E1-E6 who is in category 1 will pay less than someone with a higher pay grade in category 2 or 3.
